Sleeping is one of the most important thing you do, too much sleep as well as too little sleep can soon cause issues with your health and overall wellbeing. Moreover, you spend a large amount of your life sleeping, so it’s essential you consider your bed, bedding and pillows when you shop for the best bedroom furniture and fittings, as neglecting to select the best bedding can have a lasting impact on your health. Let’s be honest, you don’t often spend money on your bed, so while you are, it’s important to think these things through, so you don’t waste your money on beds and mattresses that could possibly lead to aches and pains.
Therefore as a bedding and bedroom fanatic, I’ve put together a guide to choosing the best bedding for you and your body:
1. Mattresses
There are so many different types of mattresses out there, memory foam, spring, water, hard, soft…the choices can be overwhelming. In my opinion memory foam is the best choice, and it only makes sense to choose a new innovation offering what has never been offered before. A memory foam bed moulds to your body shape, supporting your unique proportions and providing customized support and comfort. In my opinion memory foam has changed me entire sleeping experience and has been a worthwhile investment, let’s face it, it’s not often you replace you mattress, so it’s worth investing a little bit more for years of great sleep. Here a little more info about memory foam: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memory_foam
2. Pillows
Pillows are just as important as your mattress, if even not more important as they support your delicate neck and head. In fact bad posture can develop pretty quickly, unless you’re providing adequate support to your spine, a good quality support pillow can help you, depending on what sleeping position you have depends on the pillow you should be using, check out here (http://pillowfocus.com/) for more information.
3. Bedding
Bedding isn’t as important as the underlying mattress and pillow, however it is a good idea to choose a good quality bed set. I think 100% cotton is always the best option, it feels the best, is machine washable and very cheap to replace. Additionally depending on your climate, you should opt for a a lightweight option for summer and a higher tog for the winter, they’re not too expensive either and you’ll appreciate the ability to change when the temperatures fluctuate.
4. Frame
I’m not going to lie, the frame you choose is 99% for aesthetic purposes only, however you should make sure the base is sturdy enough to support your mattress well. I prefer the ones with a groove frame as they prevent the mattress from moving during the night, they also help keep your sheets and bedding intact too.
